Yukon Territory is the most western and smallest of the territories of Canada. It’s name comes from the Yukon River. In Gwich’in the word Yukon means “Great River” . The capital of the territory is a city called Whitehorse.
The majority of the people in the territory are English along with a First Nations minority. Yukonconsiders English and French as the official languages but also recognizes several First Nations languages.
Yukon is home to the highest mountain in Canada Mount Logan At 5,959 m (19,551 ft) and the second-highest of North America. The territory is Arctic and subarctic, with long cold winters and short summers.
